Better Spelling for Adults is a spelling practice app that helps you master tricky English words through audio-based drills and spaced repetition. Listen to a word, type the correct spelling, and track your progress across 8,000 words and 5 difficulty levels.

How does the app work?
You'll hear a word read aloud along with a context sentence. Type the correct spelling and submit. Words you misspell go into your Practice Bank, where they're drilled using spaced repetition until you spell them correctly 3 times in a row.
What's included for free?
The first 100 words at each difficulty level are completely free — 500 words total across all 5 levels. This gives you a solid taste of the app before deciding to unlock the full curriculum.
What does the premium unlock include?
A one-time purchase of $4.99 USD unlocks:
- All 8,000 words across 5 difficulty levels
- Context sentences for every word
- The ability to add your own custom words with AI-generated sentences
- Works across all English variants (British/Australian and American)
Can I switch between American and British/Australian English?
Yes. Go to Settings (the tune icon on the home screen) → Change Language. British and Australian English share the same word lists and spellings (e.g. colour, organise, behaviour). American English has its own separate word lists with US spellings (e.g. color, organize, behavior).
Does switching language reset my progress?
Switching between British/Australian and American English starts fresh progress for the new language. Your old progress is saved and restored if you switch back.
How does the Practice Bank work?
The Practice Bank holds up to 10 words you're actively learning. When you misspell a word, it enters the bank. Words are mixed back into your sessions using spaced repetition — the interval between reviews increases each time you spell the word correctly. After 3 consecutive correct spellings, the word is considered mastered and leaves the bank.
Can I add my own words?
Yes — premium users can add custom words to their Practice Bank. Context sentences are automatically generated for custom words using AI.
How do I restore my purchase on a new device?
Go to Settings → Restore Purchase. This checks with the App Store or Google Play for your previous purchase and re-enables premium.

Privacy
Better Spelling for Adults does not collect, store, or transmit any personal data. All your progress is stored locally on your device. The only network requests the app makes are:
- In-app purchase verification (handled by Apple/Google)
- Context sentence generation for custom words (sends only the word itself, not any user data)
